AU Summary

·Born in Kirkwall (or maybe not considering her name but whatevs) to a regular merchant family. Both of Ichika's parents were human. Her father passed away when she was young. Ichika's mother fell in love with an elf and had Kazuki. She takes great pains to hide Kazuki's real heritage, though both Ichika and Kazuki know the truth. Though it wasn't an issue when they were young, Ichika is concerned with Kazuki's growing resentment and teenage angst + self-hatred she's starting to see in him, as well as increasingly upset at the treatment elves and half-elves alike receive on a daily basis. · When Ichika was young, she was kidnapped by an apostate mage in a bid for freedom, but was rescued by (the kirkwall city guard??? or someone else tbh im fine with having prior cr for this). She has since repressed her memories of this incident (that she might remember if she ever meets that person again.) · Ichika joins the Kirkwall City Guard as soon as she's able in an attempt to maintain the peace in the city she's very fond of, as well as try to initiate change for the sake of the Elven alienage. (a thing that makes her very unpopular very fast). She's doomed to desk work for during her first month, though Aveline takes a chance on her and allows her to actually work the streets. Life is great. · Then Anders blows up the Chantry and the Mage Rebellion begins, TADA. The resulting explosion destroys her home and her mother goes missing. Ichika is forced to juggle guard duties and looking after Kazuki, who grows even more disgruntled at the state of Kirkwall and the violence (it leaves him very cynical, dismissing Ichika's efforts to keep the peace as pointless). Ichika does her best, but perhaps it's her unrelenting attitude and her refusal to back down on sensitive issues that leads her to her current predicament (outspoken about both elf rights and also against the annulment carried against the mages... though she's visibly conflicted on how exactly to treat mages,) · She gets knocked out during a patrol (in kirkwall?? somewhere else?? i have no idea) and wakes up with a dwarven collar around her neck and a note asking her to seek the truth with her own eyes/we'll be watching u, and that if she tries to remove the collar, she will immediately die. As a warning, the collar injects poison/casts a spell that stuns her, paralyzing Ichika until the collar gives her the antidote/lifts the spell · it's safe to say that ichika is DEEPLY DISTURBED by her collar and by also the negative impact Kirkwall has on Kazuki, so she endeavors to temporarily relocate Kazuki to a safer place.... She takes him to Haven, both to get him away and also on a rumor that the dwarf trader responsible for the creation of the collar was spotted there (in an effort to sell some stuff before the Conclave) · AND THEN THINGS BLOW UP AGAIN
